Minutes of the meeting of Sherington Parish Council held on Tuesday 6th September 2016 at Sherington Village Hall, commencing at 7.30pm

ALSO ATTENDING: Ward Cllr Geary, Ward Cllr Hoskings, Tracey Young (Clerk) and 18 members of the public.

5.      RECEIVE WARD COUNCILLORS REPORT  
Cllr Geary reported the following:

 

The 5 year housing land supply for Milton Keynes Borough is now close to being fulfilled. Sites will be allocated after a consultation period of 6 – 12 weeks probably early next year.

 

Plan MK update towards end of Nov has slipped back.

 

MK 2050 was welcomed luke warmly by people. Cllr Thatcher asked what the response was regarding compulsory purchase, Cllr Geary responded that 1 of the proposals in the report was not only compulsory purchase but also proposal of giving away the powers of MKC

 
6.      RECEIVE CLERKS REPORT  
TY confirmed that a defibrillator had been issued to the village and the Ambulance Services would like 20 people for a training course, TY to arrange. Asset list – memorial bench to be purchased, Cllrs agreed, TY to obtain quotes. Pavilion Grant – what to spend it on, suggestions mentioned were patio doors, replace window, painting and car park.  Cllrs agreed for TY to obtain quotes. TY
7.      RECEIVE REPORT FROM NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN STEERING GROUP  
Cllr Bush confirmed that the consultation period closed on the 4th September and comments received were from 8 residents, 2 advisors and MKC.  The next step will be for the NPSG sit down to look at all the comments, to be published on the website and discuss the comments and take them on board. Stage 2 to make additions based on comments then published on our website and then sent to MKC. The MKC will appoint an examiner to ensure that the plan complies and then they will organise a parish poll.  The NPSG would like more engagement from the village. Cllr Bush advised that results from the survey made it clear that residents wanted Sherington to remain a village and not a town.

A member of public suggested a village meeting to explain where the NPSG are with the plan and Cllr Bush confirmed this would be arranged.

8.      RECEIVE WORKING PARTY REPORTS AND CONSIDER MATTERS ARISING  
SHOP – Cllr Johnstone advised that the CCTV for the shop is still not working and there is no access code. Cllrs agreed to purchase a new CCTV box which Cllr Johnstone advised was £400.

 

PAVILION – Cllr Caldwell explained the situation to the public regarding the leasehold of the Pavilion. Cllr Caldwell to arrange a meeting with the landlord.

13. RECEIVE PUBLIC COMMENTS  
The following was mentioned by the public:

 

·         The cobblestones at Hillview keep coming away due to the bin lorry reversing into them. Cllr Thatcher advised that this was highlighted and passed onto Cllr Keith McLean.

·         £60 Donation request for tidying up the railings at the pre-school and tidy of village hall area.

·         The state of the dog bins. TY to obtain quotes

·         Potholes – Cllr Thatcher confirmed MKC are aware

14. COUNCILLORS ITEMS  
Cllr Hughes asked whether we would need the Village Halls permission to fit a defibrillator. John gave permission and advised he would like to know where it would be placed. TY to confirm

 

Cllr Bush advised the trees in his garden would be ready and asked for volunteers to place them around the village in November

15. DATE OF NEXT MEETING  
The next Parish Council meeting will be held at the Hall on Tuesday 4th October 2016 at 7.30pm. There being no further business the meeting ended at 2100hrs.
