The New Playground Project (2020)

Following an on-site meeting with Ian Hindler (Chair of SPC 2020/21) the playground design team went to work on designing a natural play area that would also improve physical fitness and wellbeing. Targeted at a wide age range and covering all abilities they designed a 50m long trim trail assault course which had various sections from Toddler, Intermediate and Advanced sections. They also designed a basket swing into the area which is open to a wide range of abilities and ages.To keep the natural theme running throughout the play area, we went for grass matting safety surfacing throughout. This allows the grass to ground naturally while also providing a safety surfacing for the play equipment to comply with regulations.

The Pre-School Area

This cute play area is for Children Under 5, who are welcome to play in the area outside of Pre-School hours.

It’s gated and located alongside the Village Hall – managed by Sherington Pre-School.

There are benches nearby for family to take time out – and a small football pitch for the more enthusiastic.
