The Milton Keynes Minerals Local Plan (MLP) was submitted to the Secretary of State for its independent examination on 31 March 2016.
The examination hearing sessions were held on 18 and 19 October 2016. As a consequence of a formal request by the Council to the Inspector to recommend any main modifications deemed necessary to ensure the plan is sound and appropriate for adoption, the Inspector has now advised that a public consultation on the main modifications to the Plan should be undertaken.
The schedule of the main modifications, along with the Minerals Local Plan as submitted, are available to view on the Council’s website at:
The schedule can also be viewed at all the libraries across the Borough as well as at the Civic Offices.
Please note that any representations must relate to the modifications only and not to any other part of the Local Plan. All representations on the main modifications will be considered by the Inspector. Any representations referring to any other part of the Local Plan will not be considered because the rest of the Local Plan will have already been considered by the Inspector as part of the examination process.
The proposed modifications resulting from the examination of the MLP are not significant and so do not warrant further Sustainability Appraisal (SA). Once the plan for adoption is prepared the SA Environmental Report will be finalised and will include an overview of the changes made through the examination process and that these were not considered to be significant.
The period on which to make representations will continue until 5.00pm on Friday 3 March 2017
