Cllrs Bush and Thatcher explained that they had met Stephen Shaw regarding the position of Councillor and contacted Cllrs Caldwell, Hughes and Johnstone to advise that they were happy for Stephen to join the Parish. All were in agreement.\u00a0 Cllrs Bush confirmed that prior to meeting Stephen, 2 other people had expressed an interest in the Councillor position therefore Cllrs Caldwell and Thatcher to meet with both candidates and then will vote for the last remaining Councillor position.<\/p>\n

Cllr Geary advised that there was no process and that the Parish could adopt their own.<\/p>\n

Stephen and Tracey signed the Declaration of Acceptance.<\/td>\n

  • RECEIVE WARD COUNCILLORS REPORT<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

Cllr Geary reported on the following matters:<\/p>\n

Waste Strategy<\/strong><\/p>\n

MKC have been developing over the last couple of years and was adopted at a cabinet meeting a couple of weeks ago.\u00a0 Last year there were talks regarding stopping pink sacks, this decision has now been reversed.\u00a0 Green bins are now going to be charged for at a cost of \u00a333.00 per annum.\u00a0 If this is not paid, your bin will not be collected. Charges will begin in September and you will be given a sticker to show that you have paid.<\/p>\n

Mr Kirby commented that surely this came out of your council tax fee, Cllr Geary advised that Cllr McLean was attending a meeting tonight to discuss.<\/p>\n

Cllr Thatcher asked whether there were any grants or compensation for those on low income.\u00a0 Cllr Geary mentioned that there would be some proposed safeguards but was unaware what these were just yet.<\/p>\n

Plan MK<\/strong><\/p>\n

Consultation had now begun.\u00a0 Development would most likely happen to the South of MK if the expressway comes along and would bypass the South of MK.<\/p>\n

Cllr Bush asked what was happening East of the motorway in which Cllr Geary advised that this was still going to plan, 5500 houses between the motorway and across to the A509, this is not due until 2031 and all depends on the expressway.<\/p>\n

Cllr Bush asked whether there were hard copies of the MK Plan in which Cllr Geary advised they usually send some out.\u00a0 Cllr Geary would follow up but there should be available at the library.\u00a0 TY to put a link on the website.<\/p>\n

Cllr Hughes asked whether the MK Dons was going through, Cllrs Geary advised that they would rather MK Dons purchase the land as it will cost many of millions of pounds.<\/p>\n

5 Year Housing Supply<\/strong><\/p>\n

Cllr Geary confirmed that MKC possibly have their 5 year land supply which means planning applications will begin to get refused.<\/p>\n

Cllr Caldwell asked when the waste plant in Wolverton would be operational.\u00a0 Cllr Geary confirmed it should be operational in November and reported that the company that did the gasification part had gone bust but they had taken on a lot of the employees as this was the only company that did this process.<\/td>\n

TY reported on the following:<\/p>\n

The Parish would like to say a big thank you to David Williams and Peter Crook for planting the trees around the village.<\/p>\n

Cars Parked along Sherington Bridge<\/strong><\/p>\n

TY reported to Thames Valley Police, Ref 462 2nd<\/sup> March 2017. It was noted that the blue VW van was now parked in the grounds of the house.<\/p>\n

Clean Up<\/strong><\/p>\n

TY to arrange a litter picking day in the village, some residents have shown an interest. Date to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

Steve Kennedy mentioned that he had come across a lot of laughing gas cylinders around the village and that bins were over flowing with rubbish. Cllr Geary advised that this was trying to be addressed and in May the Mayor will be announcing a Clean MK initiative and trying to work with communities, schools, parish councils etc as to how we start to address this and the source.<\/p>\n

Steve suggested posters as you enter and leave the village which Cllr Thatcher confirmed she had and would be put up in the village.<\/td>\n

8.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>RECEIVE REPORT FROM NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN STEERING GROUP <\/strong><\/td>\n\u00a0<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
Cllr Bush informed that an Examiner was now in place. The Examiner advised that a public hearing was requested by Mr Locke and that this would take place on the 12th<\/sup> April. The hearing was requested due to the suggestion that this was a \u201cscruffy\u201d part of land and is not part of the conservation area and should not be local green space. Cllr Bush commented that it was up to the examiner to decide.\u00a0 Cllr Geary advised that if there is a hearing then there can be no legal challenge.<\/td>\n\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

SHOP <\/strong>\u2013 Nothing to report this month<\/p>\n

PAVILION \u2013 <\/strong>Cllr Thatcher mentioned that the cheque had been returned again.\u00a0 Cllr Hughes advised talking to Tamara again.\u00a0 Cllr Caldwell to ask Tamara what the land prices should be. Cllr Bush added that we have a valid lease which we are trying to pay.<\/p>\n

Drainage \u2013 <\/strong>TY reported that we still needed confirmation from Sally Cook that we could clear the ditch to then get on with the drainage and gravel to the car park.<\/p>\n

Sign \u2013 <\/strong>TY asked for confirmation that she could purchase the sign, Cllrs in agreement to go with the middle option.<\/p>\n

TREES \u2013 <\/strong>Cllr Bush reported that David Williams and Peter Crook have planted trees around the village.\u00a0 Steve Kennedy commented that distinctive trees are going missing and Cllr Thatcher added that the Parish would place TPOs on trees.<\/td>\n

Steve commented that there was flooding down the High St due to wheels and bottles blocking the gate and also some dumped tyres in Gun Lane.\u00a0 TY to report to MKC<\/td>\nTY<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

Cllr Hughes reported some items on behalf of John Cook, firstly was that the defibrillator did not need an electrical supply and does not require a mains supply \u2013 TY to speak to supplier and electrician<\/p>\n

Cllr Hughes add that the village hall are ordering new tables and requested that the old ones be stored at the pavilion.\u00a0 TY to contact caretaker.<\/p>\n

Finally, the village hall car park needs re-surfacing and the cost would be approx \u00a3600, the Parish Council to contribute \u00a3400 and John would get volunteers to spread the stones.\u00a0 Cllrs all in agreement<\/p>\n

Cllr Thatcher advised that the Preschool will re-open on the 30th<\/sup> March at 12.30pm<\/p>\n
