Living in the Countryside

Living and Working in a Rural Community requires an extra effort on the part of the Locals, the Residents, the Businesses and New Arrivals – and all their guests and visitors. (A Resident can apply to be a Local after 25 years)

The Countryside Code gives clear guidance behaviour to help us live in harmony with each other and the environment.

The key sentiment is Respect: Protect : Enjoy

Recently in Sherington we have witnessed an increase in dog fouling, casual littering, and speeding in the Village.

At the January Parish Council Meeting which was very well attended (over 50 members of the public) it was recommended that the Council promote the Country Code – and encourage the Villagers to live the Code.
